[Cwgrad-announcements] film contest opportunity for students

  “One Nation, Many Voices” is a film contest about the Muslim- 
American experience in the U.S., sponsored by One Nation and Link TV.  
We’re asking people to submit video entries that speak to everything  
that’s as trivial as getting through breakfast without bacon (pork  
is prohibited in Islam) to more serious subjects like being a  
headscarf-wearing feminist. Anyone can enter. The contest will  
feature online voting and the winners will be decided by a panel of  
celebrity judges, including: Danny Glover, Mariane Pearl and American- 
Muslim comedian Azhar Usman (star of the “Allah Made Me Funny”  
comedy tour) among others. It’s a great way to get Americans of all  
faiths and spiritual traditions, especially youth, engaged in a  
public forum about the commonalities that we share as Americans.


Prizes include:

$20,000 for the grand-prize winner
Filmmaker national debut on link TV
$5,000 for winners in six categories: drama, comedy, documentary, and  
animation/music, short films of one minute or less, and films by  
youth (18 and under)

Submissions are due no later than 11:59 pm on Nov. 25. People can  
vote online for their favorite videos until 11:59 pm on Nov. 30. The  
top vote-getters will then be judged by the celebrity panel to  
determine the grand-prize and six category winners. For more
