 Jessica Hagedorn, National Book Award nominee and author of
Dogeaters, The Gangster of Love and other books
 of fiction and poetry, will read from her work. The event will be
presented in conjunction with the Los Angeles production
 of Dogeaters at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Born and
raised in the Philippines, Hagedorn is a novelist, poet,
 performance artist and screenwriter and is widely acknowledged as a
leading voice of Asian America.


 The reading will be followed by a reception and discussion with the audience.
