M, I'm not sure where your apt is, but you can go to University Parking 
services, check the UCR website and buy a parking permit for UCR. It will be for a 
certain lot, which you do have some choice over. After 4pm and on the 
weekends, you can park wherever you want. It is a bit pricey though. Best, Val
