FIRE IN THE TACO BELL is a one-day event that has developed during the
Mexico City artists´ 3-week residency in Los Angeles. The event, which
includes an exhibition, lecture, and screening, explores the idea of
the autonomous zone and its possible repercussions on trade practices
with friendly nations. 

The exhibition opens on Saturday from 12-6 pm and includes video and
objectual works pertinent to the conceptual structure of the event.
The exhibition may be viewed by appointment through Tuesday, October
17 by calling (323) 527-7078.

The lecture at 2:00 pm will consider the politics of
misunderstandings, the nature of evil, the spirit of creative dissent
and the subtleties of fair commerce.

The screening at 7:00 pm will feature the Los Angeles premiere of
Renato Ornelas´ feature film, "Cabecitas," produced by Revolcadero
Films. 

FIRE IN THE TACO BELL is made possible thanks to the generous support
of La Colección Jumex, Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores de México
and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles.

FIRE IN THE TACO BELL is one of six projects organized for "Fair
Trade," a project series that concludes Outpost for Contemporary Art's
2004-2006 North American program cycle.
