Achille Mbembe is a Visiting Professor in Comparative Literature and the
Critical Theory Emphasis, UC Irvine.

He is a Senior Research Fellow, Wits Institute for Social and Economic
Research (WISER) and Research Professor, Department of History, University
of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

He is the author, among many other works, of On The Postcolony (University
of California Press, 2001)
