Hello Sandy,

Thank you so much.

Join Hollywood's Master Storytellers for a special screening of History Of Violence on March 21st at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. We will be joined by Academy Award nominated screenwriter Josh Olsen and mega producer Chris Bender who will give us the inside scoop on this critically acclaimed film and the stars. A must attend for writers, producers, filmmakers and film fans who would like to learn how "Hollywood" works.

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE

Starring: Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris, William Hurt

Director: David Cronenberg

Writer: Josh Olson, based on the graphic novel by John Wagner and Vince Locke

Guests: Producer Chris Bender, Screenwriter Josh Olson

Running Time: 1 hour, 36 minutes

Rated R for strong brutal violence, graphic sexuality, nudity, language and some drug use

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE is one of those undiscovered gems that, like Shane Black’s KISS KISS BANG BANG (coming to Hollywood’s Master Storytellers later this spring) was an amazing film that just got lost in the shuffle when originally released. Rolling Stone’s film critic Peter Travers writes, “Other films this year will have to sweat bullets to match the explosive power and subversive wit of David Cronenberg's A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. It slams you like a body punch and then starts messing with your head. Open your eyes, people. This is a world-class director, at the top of his startlingly creative form.”

Viggo Mortensen gives what many critics call the performance of his career as Tom Stall, the 40-something owner of a small town Indiana diner with a smart, sexy wife (Maria Bello in a superbly crafted performance), a teenage son and grade school daughter. But looks are deceiving. When Tom faces off against a pair of would-be robbers, using combat skills you would never expect a short order cook to have, his world changes drastically. We’re not going to spoil the plot’s twists and turns for you. Suffice it to say that as a master of suspense thrillers, Cronenberg lives up to his reputation and executes Josh Olson’s Oscar® nominated screenplay into one of the most powerful films of last year.

Josh Olson won tremendous critical acclaim for adapting John Wagner and Vince Locke’s graphic novel to the big screen. His screenplay was nominated for Writers Guild, BAFTA and Academy Awards.

Chris Bender and J.C. Spink are partners in Benderspink, a motion picture and talent management company that opened its doors in 1998 with 15 screenwriting clients. In just over a year, Bender and Spink sold 24 client spec scripts and launched the highly successful AMERICAN PIE franchise for Universal Studios. In addition to A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, Bender’s producing credits include THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, MONSTER IN LAW and RED EYE. Benderspink currently has a first look deal with New Line.
