Publishing and Flourishing: An Insider’s Workshop with
Jeffrey Levine

A one-day workshop in which participants have the opportunity to
demystify the publishing world in a frank and detailed discussion led by
publisher and writer, Jeffrey Levine. He will share methods that will
enable participants to design an effective publishing program that meets
the needs of the novice, the moderately successful, and the veteran
writer. As both writer and publisher, the instructor brings a rich
perspective to the workshop from both sides of the envelope. Specific
individualized strategies will be presented for prose and poetry writers
at every stage of their writing careers. Discussion includes specific
routes to success, including the effectiveness of workshops, mentoring
programs, MFA programs, and private tutoring. Participants will be
guided to take a critical look inside the various markets for written
work. Uncovering literary on-line and print journals that are right for
you, and the low-down on self-publishing. Participants prepare their
top three questions in advance for group discussion. Most importantly,
since each person's story is unique, participants will receive a brief
one-on-one consultation with the publisher. Questions to be emailed in
advance upon acceptance to the workshop.

Jeffrey Levine is founded, editor-in-chief and publisher of Tupelo
Press. He holds an MFA from Warren Wilson and is an award-winning poet.
