dA Center offers Catalyst Writing Workshop followed by a free reading
and open mic:

Deborah Bogen, winner of the 2005 X.J. Kennedy Prize, will offer a
Cataylst Writing Workshop on Sunday, January 15, at 12:30 p.m.
Enrollment is limited to six participants. Fee: $15. dA Center for the
Arts, 252-D Main Street, Pomona, Ca. 91766. Info: (909) 625-4337. To
register: send $15 to Catalyst Workshop, 512 Bowling Green Drive,
Claremont, Ca. 

A catalyst is an  agent that provokes or speeds significant change of
action. This workshop teaches participants how to use art, film, fairy
tales, cartoons, and the daily news to get at what they want to write. 

 

FREE POETRY READING AND RECEPTION:

 

Following the Workshop, Ms. Bogen will read from her award-winning
collection Landscape with Silos 2 p.m. at dA Center for the Arts, 252-D
