While debate and negotiations continue over ownership of L.A./Ontario International Airport, a few central questions remain: What is the value of the airport to the Inland Empire, and what is the facility’s future if transferred to local control under the newly formed Ontario International Airport Authority?

Ronald O. Loveridge, Mayor of Riverside and a member of the Ontario International Airport Authority, and Alan D. Wapner, an Ontario City Councilman and also a member of the Ontario International Airport Authority, will examine those questions at the November Randall Lewis Seminar Series.

The seminar will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the CE-CERT Building, 1084 Columbia Ave. in Riverside. (See Map)

SEATING IS LIMITED, AND REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Inland Empire officials, including more than 125 local governments, elected officials, businesses, civic groups and regional planning organizations have joined in the effort to transfer control of the airport from the Los Angeles World Airports to the newly formed Ontario International Airport Authority.

Inland Empire officials have said that Los Angeles World Airports has done little to reverse the loss of nearly a third of the L.A./Ontario Airport’s passengers since the economic recession began in 2007. Los Angeles World Airports officials said they have tried to attract airlines to Ontario but without success because of the recession.
