Friends of the Riverside Public Library presents Growing Young with Books -
with Carlos E. Cortés. 📖

The Friends of the Riverside Public Library are excited to welcome Carlos
E. Cortés - a Riverside treasure - as their Annual Meeting keynote speaker.
Attendees can also enjoy free refreshments, exciting opportunity baskets,
painted rocks, a Library Update by Library Director Erin Christmas, and a
Friends of the Library Officer election. ☕🧺⭐

Carlos E. Cortés is a distinguished Professor Emeritus at UCR and has been
a national diversity speaker, educator and consultant for Dora the Explorer
and Go Diego Go - on Nickelodeon. He will be on hand to sign his books.

In his Keynote, Cortés will describe the formative role of books in his
life while growing up in post-World War 2 in Kansas City and then later in
life. He will share selections from his first novel Scouts Honor (2025) and
his second book of poetry - Tenth Decade (in progress).
