Join us for a worldwide conversation on artist Melinda Gebbie’s sumptuous
retrospective art book, *Melinda Gebbie’s Greatest Fits*, with the artist
herself and the author of the introduction, Dr. Melanie West! We’ll talk
about Gebbie’s decades-long career in fine art and comix, feminism, and
creative cultures, with special guest Dr. Yamuna Sangarasivam.

*Melinda Gebbie <https://www.melindagebbie.com/index.html>* is a
cartoonist, illustrator, painter, sculptor, underground comix innovator and
author of banned books. She is best known for contributing to *Wimmen’s
Comix*, publishing the banned comic book *Fresca Zizis*, and co-creating *Lost
Girls* with Alan Moore.



*Melanie West, Ph.D <https://www.melanie-west.com/>.*, is an
interdisciplinary artist-academic and Black comix artist from Rochester,
New York. She teaches at Cal State Los Angeles.



*Yamuna Sangarasivam, Ph.D
<https://www2.naz.edu/dept/sociology-anthropology/faculty-and-staff/yamuna-sangarasivam>.*,
is Professor of Anthropology and Director of Women and Gender Studies at
Nazareth University in New York. She is the author of *Nationalism,
Terrorism, Patriotism: A Speculative Ethnography of War*.

associate professor of English and Director of Speculative Fiction &
Cultures of Science at UC Riverside. He is the author of *Audiofuturism*
