Since we are living and working in fire and earthquake zones, I am passing
along something that was very helpful to me this year. Earthquake Brace &
Bolt application is open through March 26th. It is a state granting
lottery. I applied and months later was selected, so received the FEMA
$3000 toward ensuring my (older) home is earthquake secure. You/your
family/friends can apply, too.

Literally a lottery. Once selected, you pick a builder from their list, get
estimates, load everything up and good to go.

If it cost more than the grant, there may be additional funding if you are
within income allotments. The first $3000 is not income based, just zone
based to ensure houses are sound.

EBB registration is now open and will remain open through February 26,
2025!
