Carve Out Time for the February *Writer’s Chronicle*
The new issue of AWP’s digital magazine
<https://awpwriter.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3a78d5393f981cd9a567d3d42&id=bd324ae778&e=07ac9e4a92>
is out now! This month, Courtney Maum responds to the viral Substack that
blamed Big Five publishers for the decline of literary fiction. In our Big
Conversation, four booksellers who are also writers discuss what they’ve
learned about writing and publishing from their time in indie bookstores.
Other features cover how to get unstuck in your writing, what small presses
are doing right (and could be doing better), strategies for going deeper in
your memoir, Los Angeles’ history of Indian relocation, and much, much more.
Check out excerpts of new and forthcoming books from W. W. Norton, FC2,
Bloomsbury, LSU Press, and HarperCollins, among others, and read Neema
Avashia’s recommendation for the TWC Book Club. The 2024 AWP Award Series
winners preview their winning books, and as always, writers in all genres
share favorite prompts. *The Writer’s Chronicle* is now bimonthly, so the
next issue comes your way April 15!

Of her mentor, Anika Scott, Amanda writes, “She reminded me that the
