Hello, Everyone:

I’m excited to invite you to an event I’m co-sponsoring in my role as Tomás
Rivera Endowed Chair in Creative Writing: *Sacar la Voz: Stories of
Belonging, Resistance, and Home*, a powerful evening of story, reflection,
and celebration.

I’m collaborating with *Dr. Jennifer Najera* from the Department of Ethnic
Studies, author of *Learning to Lead: Undocumented Students Mobilizing
Education*. Together, we’re bringing together scholars, activists, and
community voices for a panel discussion and reading that explores
belonging, resistance, and home. The evening will also include a *book
signing and reception*.

This event is free and open to all.

Date: Thursday, Apr. 17, 2025, 6-9 PM

Location: Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of the Riverside
