Hello Alex Espinoza,


My name is Hayden Demmon and I am a student editor at Matchbox Magazine, an
annual UC-wide literary and visual arts publication. I am reaching out to
you today because we are accepting undergraduate submissions for our 18th
edition (prose, poetry, visual art, music, and spoken word), until the
submission deadline of 2/1/24. If you have not seen our previous editions
around your campus before, then you can also check them out at our website

Matchbox is a wonderful opportunity for students who have not been
previously published to receive recognition for their work. Last year, we
received approximately 500 total submissions thanks to our contacts at UC
Riverside, ultimately enabling us to represent the collective artistry of
UC undergraduates in our 18th edition. We hope to have a large presence of
UC Riverside undergraduates in this year's issue, and believe we can make
that happen with your help!


Students can submit their work to Matchbox Magazine at our
matchboxmagazine at gmail.com or by using the QR code on the attached flier.

Submissions at a glance:

   All schools represented in our magazine will receive copies of our 18th
   edition to be circulated among their student body


I have attached submission fliers below and would greatly appreciate it if
you could virtually distribute them to your students via email, or your
campus’ Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas)! In addition, please
consider forwarding this information directly to your department’s advisors
to include in their newsletters or email bulletins– this would benefit our
cause immensely. I would also value your direction on any other resources
on the UC Riverside campus that could help spread the word (student
organizations, faculty, newsletters, and more).
