Development Manager as we expand our efforts and grow as an organization.
The right candidate will have experience in development and a passion for
the literary arts and for nonprofit fundraising. The Development Manager
will bolster our existing individual fundraising efforts while imagining
and implementing new strategies to attract new individual donors.

This is a full time position with benefits. The Development Manager will
manage Beyond Baroque’s fundraising campaigns, grants, membership program,

reading with four Latinx writers of the L.A. area. The evening features an
evening of poetry and prose with authors *Lisbeth Coiman, Marisa Urritia
Gedney, Marilynn Montaño*, and *Carolina Rivera Escamilla*. The reading
will be hosted by author *Brian Dunlap*.

The Unwrinkled Ear Presents:
Judith Hamann & Stephan Crump
*Tuesday, March 7, 8:00 PM PST*
*In person at Beyond Baroque*

*The Unwrinkled Ear* presents one night of two string solos by *Judith
Hamann* (cello) and *Stephan Crump* (acoustic bass). Hamann returns to The
Unwrinkled Ear via Berlin/Australia to continue the harmonic blooming they
drafted by haunting the physicality of their cello in their 2019
performance in the series. Crump, traveling from New York, makes his series
debut, bringing Los Angeles face-to-face with his transformation of the
bass into a speaking entity with magnetic pull.

Get In Your Feelings: Writing for Emotional Intelligence with Janice
Littlejohn

This four-hour workshop uses the practices of journaling, mindfulness and
meditation to cultivate self-awareness around your emotions by giving
yourself permission to feel your feelings without being consumed by or
judging them. This is not a creative writing class. Journaling assignments
discussed during the workshop are designed to help you explore and
understand your emotions and triggers. Written work will not be critiqued
based on its content. Discussions of work are encouraged, but completely
voluntary.

Monday Night Fiction Workshop
*Weekly at **7:30 PM*

Beyond Baroque’s *Monday Night Fiction Workshop* welcomes community writers
to read and receive feedback on 2-3 pages of fiction each week. This
workshop is currently facilitated by *Raquel Baker* via Zoom. Registration
required for each week’s session.

*Raquel Baker *earned a PhD in English Literary Studies from the University
of Iowa, specializing in Postcolonial Studies and 20th- and 21st-century
African literatures in English, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills
College. Raquel is currently an Assistant Professor of Postcolonial and
Transnational Literatures at California State University Channel Islands,
teaching courses on creative writing and contemporary African literatures.
Raquel has published poetry in *Africology* and *The Arrow*; fiction
in *Enculturation,
The Daily Palette, The Womanist*, and *Crux*; and non-fiction in *Little
Village*.

Wednesday Night Poetry Workshop

The West Coast’s longest-running free poetry workshop welcomes new and
seasoned poets to share new work and provide feedback. Please be prepared
to share one poem. This workshop will be hosted via the Zoom
video-conferencing platform, and is currently facilitated by *Tom Laichas*.
Please sign up for each workshop session at least 24 hours in advance of
the meeting, and you will be contacted with instructions on how to join the
meeting.

*Tom Laichas* is author of *Three Hundred Streets of Venice California*
(FutureCycle Press, 2023), *Sixty-Three Photographs from the End of a War *(3.1
Press, 2021), and *Empire of Eden* (The High Window Press, 2019). His
recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in *Salt, Jabberwock, Blue
Unicorn, Softblow, Disquieting Muses Quarterly, Stand*, and elsewhere. He
lives in Venice, California.

Angeles over the past 90 years, Juri Koll, director of the Venice Institute
of Contemporary Art, curates a group show as part of its ongoing
exhibitions chronicling the history and practice of art in Southern
California, with cutting edge work. Los Angeles, and Southern California in
general, has and will continue to provide a legacy to the art world that,
in terms of art history, we are only just beginning to understand and
appreciate.

(affordable) Housing Gone?*" is a community-based arts & research project
