Friendly Reminder..........................

All Star Award nominations are due by end of today, March 24th.

Good afternoon,

At this time, I would like to call for nominations for the Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Plan for eligible employees. The STAR Plan provides an important vehicle to encourage excellence in University service, recognize and reward significant achievements and contributions, and recognize and reward outstanding individual and team performance.

Attached is a STAR Plan nomination form that can be completed and submitted to me, no later than Friday, March 24, 2023. General guidelines and examples of performance standards are included on the attached nomination form, as well as being listed below. Please note on the nomination form, you must indicate which strategic goal(s) the award supports as described in the UCR Strategic Plan.

For your convenience, when completing the nominee portion of the form, you only need to list the employee name and nominator info. Upon receiving your nomination, I will complete the remaining information of the employee listed on the form(Employee ID, Title, Title Code, etc.) and collect the supervisor signatures.

 The following list includes the eligible career staff employees-

  *   Jennifer Douglas
  *   Jessica Gonzalez
  *   Manhoi Hur
  *   Tracy Kahn
  *   Brandon Le
  *   Jaime Matute

  *   April Meinzer
  *   Jackelyn Quinonez
  *   Maria Sedillo
  *   Matt Ulrich
  *   Mariella Valdivia
  *   Wilhelmina Van De Ven

Please note that some represented employees are not eligible to participate in this Plan due to the terms of their contracts; however, they may nominate eligible staff for award consideration. Undergraduate student assistants are not individually listed but are eligible for consideration. Eligible staff may self-nominate.

 Performance Standards

Eligible employees may be nominated for the following-

  * Teamwork: Acting as an exceptionally effective and cooperative team member or team leader for a team that has significantly exceeded the goals/objectives of the department/unit.

Guidelines
Individual employees or teams of employees are eligible to be nominated for a STAR Plan award as noted below:

  * Satisfactory or better performance on most recent performance evaluation demonstrated by sustained, high-level contributions to departmental, divisional, and/or organizational goals and objectives during FY2022-2023.
  * Awards may be based on the recipient's achievement as an individual or as part of a team. "Across the board" type of awards (i.e. those based on a category of employee without regard to the recipient's achievement or contribution) are not allowed under the STAR plan.
