Kevin,

This is a natural fit for a tour of CE-CERT.

Don, My apologies for such short notice. Are you able to arrange or even host this?

Matt,

Do you have suggestions for who else he might meet with?

Dear Kathryn and Chris,

I’d be grateful if you could work with Kevin to determine whether it would be beneficial for the Sub-Secretary of the Environment of the State of Queretaro, Mexico (visiting next Tuesday) to meet with some of your faculty and, if so, with whom.

Thanks,

Liz

We need to get BCOE and CHASS involved on this. Getting him to faculty working in this area is the best direction on this.

Subject: Sub-Secretary from Queretaro, Mexico visiting UCR next Tuesday

HI Kim, Liz, Isabel, Rodolfo and Marko (though I know Marko is in Thailand):

This is preposterously late notice, but we literally found out about it earlier today. Sub-Secretary of the Environment of the State of Queretaro, Mexico, Ricardo J. Torres, will be visiting UCR Extension next Tuesday from 8:30am-12pm. He is a high level govt official from Queretaro and the visit is the result of a very successful meeting that our team had with him and his team in Mexico last month. We have presented a custom program proposal to the state of Queretaro and the Universidad Tecnológica de Queretaro on an Environmental Research and Technology Certificate and they appear to be very interested. The Sub-Secretary had mentioned that he would be in Anaheim, we invited him to Riverside, and much to our surprise he just accepted our invitation. Complicating this a bit is that I will be flying out of the country for Japan that morning.

He is interested in collaboration with UCR in the areas of decarbonization and circular economy, air quality forecasting and modeling, forest regeneration (for decarbonization efforts), and in public policy as relates to the design and integration of these various initiatives and was hoping to visit Ce-CERT and CARB as part of his visit. I have reached out to Matt, Nicole and Arun at Ce-CERT. Would any of you be available for a brief meeting, by chance? Also, can someone help me with a contact at CARB? If no one is available, I completely understand, but I did want to alert everyone to his visit.

Please let me know as soon as you can. Let me know if there is anyone I am missing who should be looped in as well.

Thank you! Kevin
