[Corebotanyfaculty] Change in BPS Department Administration Staff

Good afternoon,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Mariella Valdivia from the Botany & Plant Sciences Department.   She has accepted a position as a Graduate Student Academic Advisor with the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences on campus.

Mariella has graciously served our department for the past 13 years and has been a valuable member of our team.  She has assisted our department in a variety of tasks and duties.  I would like to thank her for all her contributions to the Botany & Plant Sciences Department that were essential to our success.  We all have enjoyed working with Mariella and appreciated her work commitment, welcoming customer service, sharing of wealth of dept history with her colleagues and her true dedication throughout the years.

We want to congratulate her on this promotion and wish her the very best on her new position.  Her last day in the department will be Friday, September 8th.

As a farewell celebration for Mariella, we will be having pastries and light refreshments in the Botany Dept conference room 2158 on Friday, September 8th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  Please feel free to stop by and congratulate Mariella on her new venture.

We are moving forward with a recruitment and hope to fill the position as quickly as possible.  In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me.
