ALL BATCHELOR HALL OCCUPANTS AND DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP,

Please be advised that following activities will be occurring at the Batchelor Hall Building for the week of May 9, 2022 through May 13, 2022.

            Site, Roof and Basement:

*         Research and Identification of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Piping.

*         Placing Concrete at Exterior Pad Mounted Transformer.

*         Replacing Irrigation at Planter Area

*         Crane off Concrete Penthouse from Roof (Partial Shutdown of Parking Lot 11)

*         Chipping of Concrete Walls at Penthouse Roof


Area A (Main Building):

*         Demo of Room 2163

*         Form and Place Concrete Pads for New Equipment

*         Install Anchors for Conduit Runs

*         Install Plumbing Piping

*         Prep and Planning for Mechanical Piping.

Area B (South Building):

*         Install Conduit in Corridors for New Lights

*         Install New Roof Drains and Piping

*         Coring Concrete Walls for Plumbing Piping

You may be receiving in the next few days a message from TAPS with the following information:

Lot 11 Permit Holders,

Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) has received notification from Planning, Design and Construction (PD&C) about a closure that will impact access and use of Parking Lot 11.  This closure will begin on May 12th and run through May 14th.  During this period of time, half of the parking spaces in Lot 11 will be closed, as will the entrance and exit from Eucalyptus Drive.

If you plan to be on campus and using Lot 11 during these three days, you will need to access the lot from East Campus Drive.  While in the lot, please be aware of the closure areas and do not enter them.  The construction crew will be removing large concrete panels from the roof of the building with a crane.  Lot 11 permit holders who cannot find an available space in Lot 11 on these days can utilize the open parking spaces in Lot 9 across East Campus Drive.

As we move forward with meetings with the Phase II occupants in preparation for their moves we thought we would include in this Construction Update some of the Temporary Move Questions that have been asked:

Anticipated Timeline for moves:

Phase 1: April 2022 - October 2022
Phase 2:  November 2022 - May 2023
Phase 3: June 2023 - December 2023
Phase 4: January 2024 - June 2024
*Approximately three weeks for moving between phases

The phases have not changed from the original planning.

The project move team will contact you about 6 months before the anticipated start of your phase to discuss your temporary space needs.  The team will identify temporary space and work with you to complete the moves.
