We need to nominate a BPSC faculty member to replace Janet on the CNAS Executive committee.  The department must have a representative on this committee.

NOTICE OF ELECTION AND CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
2022-2023

March 7, 2022

In accordance with the Bylaws of the Riverside Division of the Academic Senate, nominations are requested for the following CNAS Executive Committee positions:

Chair of the Faculty
Theodore Garland’s term to expire in 2022.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Biochemistry.
Richard Debus’ term to expire in 2022.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Botany and Plant Sciences.
Janet Franklin’s term to expire in 2022.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.
Stephen Robert Kane’s term to expire in 2022.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Entomology.
Quinn McFrederick’s term to expire in 2023.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology.
Hailing Jin’s term to expire in 2022.

One member, to be chosen from the Department of Statistics.
Esra Kurum’s term to expire in 2022.

The Chair’s term is two-years, beginning September 1, 2022. All other positions are three-year terms, beginning September 1, 2022.

Nominations can be made electronically on the Senate website at:

Please note that you must log in using your UCR NetID in order to place a nomination.

To be considered for nomination, each candidate must receive at least five nominations from eligible Senate members.  Submitting a name indicates that this person has been contacted and has agreed to serve if elected.

The deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022.  Candidates who receive less than five nominations will not be considered.  Following confirmation of the nominees, an electronic ballot will be created, if necessary, with voting due by Friday, April 8, 2022.
