Dear CITL,

This week ITS will formally launch the UCR Community workspace in the
University’s
new Slack Enterprise Grid <https://its.ucr.edu/slack>, a centralized and
secure communication and collaboration platform. Every student, faculty,
and staff member will have access to their own Slack account, which comes
at no cost to the user or their department.

Managed Devices May Require Slack Update

If you manage devices for your department/unit, we ask that you please
ensure your users have access to the latest version of Slack to avoid any
service issues. Support for Slack application versions 4.27 and below ended
on September 1, 2023. As a result, you will need to push the latest version
of Slack
<https://slack.com/help/articles/115002037526-System-requirements-for-using-Slack>
to your managed devices.

Launch of UCR Community Workspace

Please note that your users will receive an email this week notifying them
of their Slack account and providing guidance on how to log into the UCR
Community workspace.
