Dear Colleague:

Hofstra University Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in any area of Computational Chemistry to start September 1, 2024. Hofstra is located in suburban Long Island, NY, about 30 minutes from NYC. The chemistry department serves only undergraduate students, who are eager to be mentored and engage in research. Our best students matriculate at top PhD and MD programs. We offer ACS-certified BS Chemistry and BS Biochemistry degrees, and we also offer a BS Forensic Science. We are growing department of 15 full-time faculty and 150 majors, with resources to support faculty research and teaching. Significant startup funds are provided, and grant-seeking is expected. The teaching load is 3-2 and class sizes start at 40 for intro classes and shrink to 10 for advanced classes.

We invite you to identify candidates for this faculty position from among your graduate students and postdocs who have an interest in both research and teaching and encourage them to apply. A PhD in Chemistry or related field is required by the start date. Teaching experience, especially with a diverse population of learners, is highly desirable.
