Experian - Identity Theft Protection Program

DBRs, please share this very important information via your internal listserv.

UCOP is pleased to introduce the new University-Sponsored Identity Theft Protection Plan, which will become effective on April 1, 2024. In collaboration with Experian, a trusted leader in identity protection services, UCOP is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all university members in today's digital landscape.

Key features of the Experian Identity Theft Protection Plan include:

  1. Credit monitoring, reports, and scores: Receive credit reports, scores, and real-time alerts for any significant changes to your credit report, helping you detect potential identity theft.
  2. Identity theft insurance and restoration services: Up to $1 million of identity theft insurance and 24/7 restoration services in the unfortunate event of an identity theft.
  3. Dark web and proactive monitoring: Active scans of the dark web and many other databases for any compromised personal information.
  4. Device protection and online privacy: A suite of privacy tools to help defend your digital data across all your devices.
  5. Digital financial management: Financial tools and personalized insights to help you achieve your credit and financial goals.
All benefits-eligible faculty and staff will be automatically enrolled in the program. However, to take full advantage of the program features and add dependent children up to age 18, employees must take action to register for an account on the Experian website.

To help you navigate this new benefit, multiple employee training sessions will be held during the week of March 18, 2024. Attendance is limited to the first 3,000 attendees. Experian will provide an overview of the program features, a platform demo, and helpful reminders. We encourage you to socialize and attend one of the sessions to learn more about protecting yourself from identity theft and maximizing the program's benefits.
