Hello again,
Sorry to be spamming you today, but I had one more follow-up.
We’ve received requests for lists of students in your majors to help you
identify candidates to nominate, so I’m attaching a report showing all
eligible graduating students for the 23-24 academic year. I only included
students with at least a 3.0 GPA and sorted them by major.
Remember, nominees for the Excellence Award do not have to be graduating
seniors, but we understand that seniors may be more likely to fit the
criteria for the award. Schraer nominees do have to be graduating seniors.
We will be sure to include this type of report at the start of the process
next year.

*Importance:* High
Dear CNAS Department Chairs and Faculty Advisors:
We are requesting your nominations for the 2024 Academic Excellence and
Rosemary S. J. Schraer Awards. This is an opportunity to recognize some of
the most outstanding undergraduate students within your academic
departments. Selected students will be recognized during the CNAS
Commencement ceremony on Monday, June 17th, 2024.
Please forward this information to the faculty members in your departments
and encourage them to nominate any undergraduate students eligible for
these awards. You can also reach out to the lead academic advisor in your
major for suggestions from the advising staff.
*Award Information:*
· Academic Excellence Award: intended to recognize a student from
each major for their academic success, research, and/or creative activity (*see
attachment: Recommended Number of Nominations for Academic Excellence
Awards*)
· Rosemary S. J. Schraer Award: intended to recognize two graduating
seniors from the entire college for their academic excellence, leadership,
and participation in activities
· Outstanding Achievement Award: will recognize one student from the
entire college (*selected from the Academic Excellence Award nominations*)
for their exemplary achievement in academics, research or creative
activity, their breadth of involvement within the college, and for their
commitment to service and citizenship
*Nomination Criteria *
· Academic excellence/GPA
· Leadership or extracurricular activities
· Individual research or assistance with faculty research project
*Academic Excellence Awards*
· Faculty are asked to nominate* the number of students noted on the
attachment* for your major, regardless of class level (students from majors
outside of your discipline may be nominated if they have been actively
doing research within your department)
· Faculty nominations should be forwarded to the Lead Faculty Advisor
for your major and should include:
1. One letter of recommendation from faculty
2. Short biography about the nominee (125 word maximum; sample
attached)
· Lead Faculty Advisor steps:
1. Rank each nominee

this award
· Faculty nominations should be forwarded to the Lead Faculty Advisor

2. One letter of recommendation from faculty
3. Short biography about the nominee (125 word maximum; sample
