Good Day,
A quick update, there is a slight set-back on the GSMS deployment. The GSMS team lost a few developers but the ones remaining are working very hard to get it deployed by early August for department to issue appointment letters. I will keep everyone posted and we should know before the end of July. If it will not deploy in time for letters to be issued for fall, we will resume using TA Online, but I'll let you know by end of month. Thank you for your patience.

Best,
Perla

Good morning!
A quick follow up on the message I shared below. This is the GSMS Phase 1 implementation timeline. As TA Online is being replaced by the new system, moving forward, all fall appointment letters will be issued in GSMS. TA Online letters will be disabled starting fall 2025, but options for reporting access after TA Online is disabled is being explored. Communication will be coming soon to staff on testing and training (see rollout dates below). Your attention to this transition is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Best,
Perla

Subject: Update on GSMS Development and Timelines

Dear Campus Partners,

This message provides an update on the Graduate Student Management System (GSMS) project, which will replace GradSIS, GradESS, and TA Online.

While significant progress has occurred since April 2024, substantial work remains before GSMS can fully replace current systems. As such, we are proposing timelines that will phase in the replacement of current systems over the next several months:

GSMS Financial Module

Retire Grad SIS and use GSMS for Admissions

Aug 1: Development Work Completed

Aug 1-31: User Testing and Staff Training

Sept 30: Deployment

Retire Grad ESS and use GSMS for all Financial Offers

October 30: Development Completed

November: 1 - 30 - User Testing

January: User Training

February: Deployment for Spring 2026 quarter

GSMS Employment Module
Position and Offer Management

Data for financial charts will be in GradESS and ITS will display required data from GradESS in the Employment module so that staff can create positions and employment offers.

July 15: Development Completed

July 15 - Aug 1: User Testing and Training

Aug 1: Deployment

Employment Application

Sept 30: Development Completed

Oct 1 - 31: User Testing and Training

Nov 1: Deployment

Your continued involvement in this initiative is valued and your input is important. To address any questions or concerns, you are invited to a Q&A session on Thursday, May 22, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. If this time is not suitable, please reply to this email with your feedback or suggest an alternative meeting time, and I will gladly arrange a discussion.

Thank you,
