Vincent Del Pizzo Senior Scholarship
Vincent Del Pizzo was UCR's Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs for many years.  He was responsible for bringing the fraternities and sororities to the campus, among other things.  He was a highly respected and much loved campus administrator who truly cared about student life and student success.  Because of his outstanding contributions to the campus, the elected ASUCR officers established this scholarship in his honor.  The scholarship was also the first Senior Class Gift established on campus in 1999.  It is awarded to a student each year who shows outstanding academic achievement, has leadership qualities and is involved with the surrounding community as well as campus organizations.

Chicano Latino Alumni Scholarship -

The Chicano Latino Alumni (CLA) mission is to build a community that advocates and creates opportunities for the academic excellence, professional growth, and advancement of Chicano Latino students, alumni, staff, faculty, and our community at large. The CLA has established a scholarship program to recognize the academic and community achievements of students at the University of California, Riverside. Scholarships Awards will be in the amount of $1,000 per award. All UCR students are eligible to apply (undergraduate/graduate/professional). Applicants must be matriculated at UCR for the 2021-2022 Academic Year to be eligible.

Chicano Educational & Cultural Fund, Inc. Cardenas Scholarship - application attached

The Chicano Educational & Cultural Fund, Inc. (CECF) has established a scholarship program in partnership with Cardenas Supermarket to recognize the academic and community achievements of students at the University of California, Riverside. Each award will be in the amount of $300 awarded to continuing undergraduate and graduate students on the basis of academic excellence, financial need, and demonstrated service to the Chicano/Latino campus community.

UC Riverside would make history when Tomás Rivera became the first Chicano Chancellor of a UC campus in 1979. A migrant farm worker from Texas, Rivera received numerous degrees succeeding and advancing at every institution he arrived. Aunque contaba con varios títulos, lo más importante para Rivera, era su comunidad. As an academic, Rivera always advocated for the equality and dignity of all people, especially of those who could not speak for themselves. In continuing with that same spirit, we know that your success today is our communities' achievements tomorrow. How many of you will enter the field of education, as Rivera did, and share your world of knowledge with the next harvest?

Chicano Student Programs and the School of Education are collaborating to support our next generation of scholar practitioners by activating the Tomás Rivera Teachers' Association Scholarship.
