In Solidarity with our sisters, brothers, and community members of Palestine; we want to extend a message of love, strength and hope to everyone. In collaboration with Students for Justice in Palestine, Middle Eastern Student Center, and Teatro Quinto Sol, we want to invite you all to join our quarterly open mic event Poesia Peligrosa featuring keynote speaker George Abraham! Poesía Peligrosa allows folxs to express their works in an intimate and safe space and come together as a community seeking solace and healing from the wounds we have sustained. Shirts will be given out per supplies last!

George Abraham is a Palestinian American poet and writer from Jacksonville, FL. They wrote the poetry collection Birthright, chapbooks al youm and the specimen’s apology. Their work focuses on the mental and physical sequential struggles of displacement, gender, the body, borders and the resilience of their Palestinian Heritage.

Description:
Join us for a an interactive and replenishing workshop! Learn about indoor plants and their healing properties, en comunidad. Ana Mirande, @Plant_Mami_, is a UCR Alumni and a plant lover manifesting green dreams in the Inland Empire. She hosts plant pop-ups from Riverside to the Coachella Valley. RSVP to reserve your spot. Local students will receive a potted plant, while supplies last. Must live within the city of Riverside or neighboring city. If you do not live locally you can use a potted plant from your home for this workshop, you will be entered in a raffle for the next @Plant_Mami_ pop-up plant shop!
