Hello Highlanders,

I am emailing you to share some important post-election information.
We have a bunch of programs coming up that you might be interested in!

Wednesday, November 4th, 2020: Day After

Student Life:

  *   11AM-12PM: The Civics Hour: Processing the Election
     *   Join the Civics Hour this Wednesday at 11am to talk about how to best process the election. Our political climate can cause anxiety and stress, and it is important to learn some strategies for dealing with those emotions. It also helps to hear from other folks going through the same thing. This week we will be joined by staff members from Student Affairs Case Management and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Undocumented Student Programs:

  *   All Day: Election Week Community Check-In and Support
     *   It's election week. We know that for many undocumented students elections can carry a lot of uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. Regardless of the election results, we will be holding space for our undocumented community. We hope you can join us in our virtual community space.

Undocumented Student Programs/Chicano Student Programs/Native American Student Programs:

  *   4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Mediation and Wellness with Susan Lopez
     *   Susan Lopez is a psychotherapist, mindfulness teacher, and herbalist with a background in immigrant rights. She works at the intersections of healing, spirituality, and social change.

Friday, November 6th, 2020
Women’s Resource Center Programs:

  *   12:00 PM -1:00 PM General Election Debrief
     *   Join fellow organizers, activists, and movement focused community members as we unpack the results of the 2020 General Election and share what they mean for our future. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome.

African Student Programs:

  *   7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Democracy Debrief
     *   Join us in an open space to talk about the election, followed by a game night practicing “democracy”
