Mark your calendars on May 15th for our annual BPSC/Corteva symposium, whose theme this year is Plants Without Borders: Global Perspectives on Plant Biology. This Corteva sponsored, all day event will include invited speakers on diverse topics in Plant Biology, a poster session, lunch, and graduate student/postdoc short talks.

This year’s event also includes the Yermanos lecture, which is a biennial keynote seminar held in honor of Dr. Demetrios M. Yermanos, who was a Professor of Agronomy and one of the original faculty members appointed to UC Riverside’s Agronomy Department, now called Botany and Plant Sciences. The Yermanos lecture is the keynote address in our annual departmental research symposium, which is organized and hosted by Plant Biology graduate students and is co-sponsored by Corteva Agrisciences. This year’s Yermanos lecture will be given by Dr. Lisa Ainsowrth of the USDA Agricultural Research Service.

This will be an in-person event and followed by the BPSC Annual State of the Department Address and awards ceremony and dinner. Watch for an upcoming email with more information and links to register and sign up to present a poster and/or give a short talk!
