Field Course Day of Action: Monday, March 1st, 2021

UCR does not have a wide range of field courses available for ecology and evolutionary biology undergraduates, especially in comparison to other UC campuses. As ecology students, this greatly limits our opportunities to develop critical skills in field work and research.

Field courses have been demonstrated as powerful tools for inclusion and student success in science. To offer more field courses, UCR must hire more faculty to teach these upper-division classes. SEEDS is joining others on campus to help advocate for increased field course offerings by emailing administrators and posting on social media using the hashtag #UCRfieldcourses.

Action Steps

1. Email the CNAS Dean, Provost, and Chancellor. Personal emails are always best, and be sure to highlight courses you wish you could take.

2. Post on social media and re-post (retweet, share, etc.) all posts.

3. Tell your friends to do the same!
