Call for volunteers: SEEDS Virtual Tabling Video

Since Highlander Orientation will be virtual this year, all clubs must produce a video to be used for Virtual Tabling. SEEDS does not have a video commercial yet. If you are interested in helping to produce a SEEDS Virtual Tabling video, please contact theseedsucr at gmail.com!

NOAA Fisheries Internship – Applications due April 11th

"IN FISH! (https://weebly.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f3d85f6e95688eb6979834f4c&id=eb1aa1d91d&e=51238ef4b3)  An Inclusive NOAA Fisheries Internship Program bringing diverse talent to marine sciences.

IN FISH! is a partnership program between NOAA and academic and non-governmental research partners. It is a 10 week paid undergraduate internship program in a NOAA marine research lab or marine resources program office. The 2021 program will run from June 1 through August 10." Niwot Ridge LTER Field Technician Jobs, Summer 2021 – Applications due April 12th

"Do you want to spend your summer working outdoors at our high-altitude research site above Boulder, Colorado, at the University of Colorado’s Mountain Research Station and Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) site at Niwot Ridge? The Niwot Ridge LTER is hiring a general field technician and a vegetation field technician for the summer of 2021.

General Field Technician
The General Field Technician position will involve working on a number of LTER research projects including plant and animal surveys, alpine lake sampling, soils monitoring, and meteorological instrument installation.  Some laboratory and data entry work may be expected as well. Accepting applications through Monday, April 12. Vegetation Field Technician
The Vegetation Field Technician will assist with vegetation surveys, plant biomass harvests and general plot maintenance in long-term experimental plots in the alpine tundra. Most of the work will be done outdoors, in the alpine tundra, and much will require accurate plant species identification in plots from a range of long-term projects established to detect and document changes in alpine vegetation in response to various and changing climatic conditions. Some work will also be done in the laboratory and entering data. Accepting applications through Monday, April 12. Workshop on Diversity in Environmental Careers – April 16th

"Join the Stanford Conservation Program and Students for a Sustainable Stanford on April 16 for "Diversity in Environmental Careers," a series of workshops and networking sessions to celebrate diversity in environmental fields!

Meet and network with professionals in several environmental fields from underrepresented backgrounds in each workshop session and learn about skills and resources to support you along your professional journey in environmental spaces. Each participant will also be paired with a mentor for a one-on-one informational interview.

Resume Writing and Navigating Bias in Recruitment with Stanford BEAM's Daisy Chavez and Joslyn Johnson (10:30 AM - 11:30 AM PST): Perfect your resume and learn about bias in employment searches and how to excel in spite of it.

What Is Your 'Why?' - Finding Meaningful Work (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM PST): Network with professionals in different disciplines to learn about their experiences in approaching environmental careers in a variety of fields and address what aspects of a career path to consider.

Breaking Through Career Barriers (1:00 - 2:00 PM PST), hosted by Jorge Ramos: Learn how to identify and navigate barriers to environmental careers alongside our mentor team.
