12 month Conservation Equity Internship Openings in Corvallis, Oregon<br>

Do you love plants and wildlife? Are you inspired by hands-on work conserving and restoring threatened and endangered species and restoring critical habitats?<br>
<br>
The Institute for Applied Ecology (<a href="http://appliedeco.org/" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://appliedeco.org/</a>) is now accepting applications for two full-time 12 month internship positions. These are paid positions with benefits and are intended to provide experience to individuals from underrepresented communities considering conservation biology or restoration ecology as a career. Deadline to apply is Sunday, January 30, 2022.<br>

These internships are an opportunity to gain experience in aspects of conservation biology, restoration ecology, ecological education, rare plant propagation, botany, and field research. While working in IAE’s various programmatic areas and under the mentorship of IAE staff, interns will experience a full annual cycle of conservation activities including substantial field and office based activities throughout the year.<br>

Interns will work on a variety of projects throughout the state of Oregon, including rare plant habitat surveys, threatened and endangered species research and monitoring, invasive species management, habitat restoration, environmental education, and plant propagation. The positions are based in Corvallis, Oregon, but during the field season, up to 50% of the work is conducted out-of-town/overnight (accommodations include hotels and camping). Internships will last from April 11th, 2022 to April 8th 2023. Internship program goals and objectives:<br>

Introduces early career individuals to conservation careers<br>
<br>
Helps to establish a pathway for individuals from underrepresented communities into natural resource related professions<br>
<br>
Provides experience in many facets of applied species and habitat conservation work<br>
<br>
Provides career guidance for conservation-related fields<br>
<br>
Builds natural history and field research skills<br>
<br>
Raises awareness of conservation issues in Oregon<br>
<br>
Qualifications: <br>

Preferred: B.S. in a related field<br>

Compensation: $17.00/hr, paid monthly, health benefits, plus travel expenses associated with overnight field work (food and lodging). Housing in Corvallis is not provided. <br>
