Fisheries Branch is hiring a Senior Environmental Scientist to work as part of an integrated team to implement activities related to the conservation and recovery of California's diverse and unique native fishes. As the Statewide Coordinator for the Native Fishes Conservation and Management Program, the successful candidate will: (1)
provide coordination and assistance on native fish issues, including translocations, grant funding, restoration, and scientific research; (2) collaborate on critical species research and restoration planning, focused on ecosystem-scale management and long-term species resiliency; (3) represent the Department in multi-agency coordinated efforts toward addressing native fish species; and (4) participate in planning, developing, and drafting status reports and evaluations with input from Department staff, researchers, and other agencies.
