The Department of Ecology & Evolution at Stony Brook University, in
collaboration with the Turkana Basin Institute (TBI), is seeking a talented
and enthusiastic Assistant Professor in Drylands Ecology.

Start Date: Fall 2025

Areas of Interest: We welcome applications from accomplished arid or
drylands ecology researchers working at the organismal, population,
community or ecosystem level, including conservation biology. Research that
explores drylands ecology in the context of climate change is particularly
encouraged.

The Ideal Candidate:

   -

   ●  Demonstrates potential to build upon existing departmental strengths
   and capitalize on Stony Brook's unique relationship with TBI.
   -

   ●  Holds the potential to establish an internationally recognized,
   externally funded research program in drylands ecology.
   -

   ●  Committed to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate
   courses, including contributing to field courses offered in the Turkana
   Basin.

   ●  Possesses a strong commitment to mentoring students.
