1988, more than 480 graduate students have received over $900,000 from the
Mathias program.

- Eligibility: Doctoral and master’s students from any UC campus
pursuing a graduate degree in any field are eligible
- Research Requirement: Conduct your study on a UC Natural Reserve
System reserve
- Funding: This year, we anticipate awarding $38,000, with individual
awards up to $3,000.

short specimen management plan)

available)
3. Up to $1,000 for projects focused on insects, fungi, and soil
biodiversity
*Important Dates:*
- New Application Deadline: *November 1, 2024 *
- Priority Consideration:* October 25, 2024*
