Hi everyone,

I'm just "bumping" this so that everyone sees it again before the campaign
deadline of 10/14. This effort has been spearheaded by EEOB and CCB
graduate students and undergraduates in the SEEDS program. The SEEDS
program is a local chapter of a national program that aims to increase
diversity and representation in the ecological and environmental sciences
through participation in hands-on field research (I am the lead faculty
advisor for this program, which basically means that I sign paperwork). The
SEEDS undergraduates and their graduate student mentors have done amazing
things in the past couple of years, including organizing research projects
locally and on Santa Cruz Island. They have also presented the results of
their projects at local and national meetings.

One of the ongoing barriers our students face is lack of access to field
gear. The goal of this fundraising campaign is to provide that access. The
gear purchased will stay at UCR, meaning that this funding will have a long
term, sustained impact on our undergraduates.

Please consider donating and pass along to others that you think may wish
to contribute.

Sincerely,

Kurt
