programs. As a Botany RA, you will collect data using ESRI

methodologies. The internship will require extensive and sometimes
strenuous field work to survey, map and document rare plant and weed
occurrences.

RA, you will help a national forest administer the special uses program.
Each year, the Forest Service receives thousands of individual and business
applications for authorization for use of National Forest System land for
such activities as water transmission, agriculture, outfitting and guiding,
and more. You will work on a variety of lands and recreation related
special-uses permitting tasks, assisting existing forest special-uses staff
with processing permit applications, special-uses administration,
application reviews with natural resources staff, financial administration,
and a broad variety of related work including both internal and external
customer service and communications. You also will attend a variety of
online based trainings related to the special uses permitting program and
related natural resources management. There will be many opportunities for
self-directed and self-paced learning with a variety of online learning
