Subject: Fwd: FW: [External Email]Fwd: NRCS and Xerces announce exciting
new job opportunity: Pollinator Conservation Specialist, Urban/Small Farms
in Underserved Communities
To:

Hi everyone,

Before the holidays, we sent this announcement out to various list-serves,
USDA liaisons at the 1890 land grant universities, job boards, and other
avenues. Now that folks are back from the holidays, I want to do another
push to help get this out to a broad applicant pool with experience working
with bees and pollinator conservation and with urban or small farm
agriculture in underserved communities.

The Xerces Society and USDA NRCS are very excited to announce an exciting
new job opportunity
<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Fxerces-jobs&data=04%7C01%7C%7C02e7df14101c423433a908d9cfcb60da%7Ced5b36e701ee4ebc867ee03cfa0d4697%7C0%7C0%7C637769294681305431%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=s2tbf7nK4kFX70aoqejYK2xKdlQ9O9oOiKfWqIEPuxQ%3D&reserved=0>.
Xerces is hiring for a Pollinator Conservation Specialist to serve as a
Partner Biologist with the USDA NRCS, focusing on support to urban and
small farms in underserved communities. The ideal candidate will have:

· a history of working with urban farms, small farms or community gardens
in underserved or under-resourced communities,

· experience living and working with Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Indigenous, or
other communities of color, and

· experience in habitat conservation and biodiversity that supports
pollinators, crop pollination, pest management, or wildlife.

The ideal location for this position will be in Atlanta, GA, Cleveland, OH,
or Detroit, MI, but other locations in the Southeastern U.S. and Upper
Midwest will be considered.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide in sharing this
announcement with job boards, students, collaborators, listservs, urban or
small farm networks, and other avenues you think will help it reach
potential candidates who have interests in supporting underserved
communities and pollinators. Redundancy is good.

It is currently set to close on January 18, 2022. Please, let me know if
you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Mace
