Hi everyone,

I am excited to announce the third annual EcoSlam presented by the Center for Conservation Biology (CCB) at UCR! The virtual event will be held via Zoom on Thursday, April 22nd.

Ecology is a truly interdepartmental field at UCR, and the CCB graduate students developed EcoSlam as a way to share research across multiple departments. Please see the flyer attached for details and to sign up to present in the "lighting talk" competitions, featuring separate undergraduate and graduate student rounds. Students will deliver their ecology and conservation-related research talks in 5 minutes or less, and prizes will be awarded for the best talks in each round.

The lighting talk competitions will be held from 2:30-4 PM (PST), followed by a keynote address by Dr. Laura Burkle of Montana State University which will take the place of the regularly scheduled BIOL 252 seminar series from 4-5 PM (PST).

For current undergraduate and graduate students, this is a great opportunity to share your research with other students and faculty. If you are interested in presenting, please sign up using the link in the flyer. Please also share with any ecology-minded undergraduate and graduate students who may be interested.

Zoom link and other information to come!

Best wishes,
Chris
