SMI'S COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS


EDUC 003: Imagining Teaching: Science/ Math Emphasis (3 units)
* Start earning pre-service field hours
* Designed for CNAS and COE majors to explore the field of science/mathematics education without any prior teaching experience
* Required to complete weekly 3 to 5 hours in the classroom along with weekly seminar.  Placement assignments are determined by SMI personnel


NASC 192: Careers in Mathematics and Science Education  Seminar (1 unit)
* Provides upper-division STEM students opportunities to network with current educators from local school districts.
* Gain skills to effectively utilize scholarly journals to further your career pathways to become successful science/mathematics
   educators.
* Provides strategies for job preparation and searches.



To Enroll
Students must be in good academic standing in CNAS or BCOE.
Submit request to smi at ucr.edu, provide:

*      UCR student ID number

*      First and last name
