SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI) LEADER

$12.42/hour

(anticipated to fill these positions by mid-May)  -- DON’T WAIT!

 

The ARC/Learning Center is seeking highly qualified, upper-division students to be Supplement Instructor (SI) Leaders beginning Fall 2011 in the following courses:

 

·       MATH 5, 8AB, 9ABC, 22

·       CHEM 1ABC, 112ABC

·       BIOL 5ABC, 

·       BCH100

·       PHYS 2ABC, 40ABC

·       ECON 2, 3, 4

·       CS 10, 12, 14

 

· Help other UCR students develop the attitudes, habits, and skills necessary for academic success 

 

 Build professional relationships with professors, UCR staff, and other SI Leaders 

 

 Develop the attitudes and skills for leadership and professionalism 

SI Leader requirements: 

 Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA 

 Minimum 3.5 GPA in subject area 

 Available to work 10-19 hrs/wk 

 

SI Leader responsibilities: 

 Attend lectures 

 Prepare for and lead weekly SI sessions 

 Meet regularly with professors / TAs 

 Participate in SI Leader training 

 Participate in Peer Educator Core Practicum
