Science Mini Conference

The Science Mini Conference will have separate strands for 4th, 5th, 6th,
7th, and 8th grade science teachers as well as high school Biology,
Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Sciences.  The morning will feature an
"Idea-Sharing" session where we ask everyone to bring 50 copies of their
favorite activity and provide a short explanation to the group.  This will
be followed by two breakout sessions focusing on hands-on activities ready
for classroom use.  The afternoon will feature longer two-hour breakout
sessions on a variety of topics such as "Using Micro-scopes to Teach State
Standards," "Build Your Own Inflatable Planetarium, Cell, and More,"
"Science Notebooks," and many more choices.

Because this is a conference attended mostly by credential teachers and SMI
was granted a special invitation, please state the following when your
registration: 

      * You are a UCR undergraduate student.

      * The subject you are pursuing to teach.         

      * Which grade level (middle school vs high school) are most interested
in pursuing.

 

           Fees:  $20.00 per individual
           Make payment payable to:
