LULAC-NISSAN SCHOLARSHIP


 


The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)-NISSAN "El Reto Supremo
Academico" (The Ultimate Academic Challenge) is intended to assist and
encourage outstanding, underserved Hispanic youth, who are interested in
mathematics, science, technology, and engineering, in completing their
college education.

 

Eligibility Requirements: 
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered: 

*         Must be a minority student pursuing full-time studies leading to a
bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university 

*         Must be a math, science, or engineering major 

*         Must reside in or attend a university or college in the state of
California or Texas 

*         Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent,
or for entering freshmen, must have a high school cumulative GPA of at least
3.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent 

*         Entering freshmen must have also scored at least 29 on the ACT
test (composite) or at least 1350 on the SAT test (verbal & math) 

*         Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident 

Award Amount: $1,000

 

Application Deadline: June 15, 2009   -- See attached for copy of the
application.
