Hello GFI colleagues and fellows -

The Chancellor Emeritus of University of Missouri recently contacted
President Drake to share information about an upcoming virtual
conference, *Within
Reach. *I offered to share the information with our UC GFI folks.



Here is a link to the conference

week (4/12-15) and is aimed at university students, staff, faculty,
researchers and other with *a mission to advance global food security*.
Below is some brief information about the event:



*The esteemed keynote speakers, include: Vimlendra Sharan, Roger Thurow,
Catherine Bertini, Dan Glickman, Ertharin Cousin and Rob Bertram. Each will
provide provocative international and domestic perspectives on topics
ranging from public health to social entrepreneurship and agriculture
science and technology. *



*The University of Missouri and other universities are using this
opportunity to enhance the learning opportunities for their students and
faculty, while seeking to engage development organizations and the public.
For students, this special educational opportunity includes:*

§  *Ability to present a start-up or non-profit “pitch” and compete for
funding;*

§  *Access to a special series of workshops targeting students;*

§  *Exposure to entry and mid-level professionals in food, agriculture,
humanitarian, STEM, and relevant industries through networking events *
