Tuesday, December 8 | 8:00 a.m. PT

The Almond Conference 2020 kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8,
with the annual State of the Industry Address. Join ABC President and CEO
Richard Waycott and his guests, Almond Board Chair Kent Stenderup and Vice
Chair Brian Wahlbrink for a candid conversation about the current state of
and outlook for the California almond industry. Stenderup, a Kern County
grower, and Wahlbrink, a grower in Stanislaus County, will discuss the
challenge of marketing the 3 billion pound crop and how the Almond Board is
investing in building demand and protecting the reputation of California
almonds and almond growers around the globe. Waycott will host the State of
the Industry at the State Theatre in Modesto. Viewers will want to stay
tuned to the end for the announcement of the 2020 Almond Achievement Award!

Wednesday, December 9 | 8:00 a.m. PT

2020 has been an incredible year not just here at home but around the
world. From Tariffs and Trade Agreements to a global pandemic, the
geopolitical climate is undergoing significant change which will shape how
we approach the future, from farm to customer. Join a conversation with
former U.S. Trade Representative Darci Vetter and former USDA Deputy
Secretary Krysta Harden as they talk about how events happening around the
world today will impact American agriculture and the California almond
industry for years to come. Vetter, now vice chair of Agriculture, Food and
Trade & General Manager, Public Affairs at Edelman; and Harden, executive
VP Global Environmental Strategy at Dairy Management Inc. and chief
operating officer at U.S. Dairy Export Council; will share insights on the
forces shaping demand at the global level, including the growing role of
nutrition and sustainability, and implications for California almond
farmers and processors.

Thursday, December 10 | 8:00 a.m. PT

Charlie Cook is one of most sought-after pundits in American politics. As
editor and publisher of *The Cook Political Report* and political analyst
for the National Journal Group, Cook’s non-partisan viewpoint on the
outcome of the 2020 election is in high demand. His live appearance at The
Almond Conference comes at a pivotal time, falling between the December 8
"safe harbor deadline" for state electoral college slates and December 14,
when electors will meet in their states to cast their votes. Beyond the
outcome of the presidential race, Cook will analyze the outcome of the
“down ballot” races that will determine the makeup of the House and Senate
for the next two years and other dynamics shaping the American political
landscape.
