Greetings all,

Please find below the description of the metabolomic position that Adam and I have prepared, which we will be advertising for this summer. Your input is crucial for the success of this search, so please provide it within the next few days, preferably by next Friday at the latest. I will be sending it to the Dean's office shortly thereafter. Thanks much in advance, and let's strive for excellence together.

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is currently accepting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant level in metabolomics, focusing on cellular and physiological adaptive responses, as well as plant metabolism and nutrition. This position is part of a major initiative in the field of metabolomics, and UCR plans to hire additional faculty in this research area over the next few years. The incoming faculty will contribute to UCR's existing strengths in various areas, including the evolution of secondary metabolic pathways, medicinal plants, plant secondary metabolites and human health. Additionally, they will engage in emerging research areas such as microbiomes, eco-metabolomics, and quantitative metabolomic imaging, along with downstream analyses.

Successful candidates will hold appointments in the Department of Botany and Plant Sciences. A Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience are required. Candidates must showcase notable scientific contributions, demonstrated through high-quality peer-reviewed publications. The applicants are expected to establish independent research programs and demonstrate the potential to secure extramural funding. Furthermore, candidates should exhibit cutting-edge expertise in developing or applying metabolomics tools (LC-MS/MS, MS imaging, NMR based metabolomics) to address key biological questions.

Be powerful

Katie
