[Bpsfaculty] Urgent: need bio-sketches for GAANN proposal

Dear BPSC PIs and CFMs,

I urgently need biosketches for our GAANN proposal from each one of you who is actively involved in graduate student education/research. If you have not done so yet, please email your bio-sketch to me (thomas.eulgem at ucr.edu<mailto:thomas.eulgem at ucr.edu>) until Wednesday morning. We have a very tight timeline for this. Information on this is below:
Our department is about to submit a proposal for a GAANN (Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need) grant to the US Department of Education. For this I need from every BPSC faculty, CE Specialist and CFM, who is actively involved in graduate student education (either by teaching graduate courses or by hosting graduate students in their lab) a two-page bio-sketch. If you are not involved at all in graduate education, you don’t need to do this.

The formatting requirements are listed below and an example is attached.

Two-page bio-sketch in 12-point Times New Roman type with 1-inch margins in Microsoft Word. The recommended content is:
-- Name/contact
-- Education
-- Personal statement on graduate student mentoring: e.g. courses developed, number of students supervised, outcomes for those students
-- Appointments
-- Honors and awards: anything that supports our assertion that the faculty is top-notch
-- Selected publications
-- Selected synergistic activities, emphasizing graduate student mentoring and contributions to diversity

 In the attached example, a web link is provided to selected publications. You can do this, but can instead insert the actual references, if space permits. Also, in the attached example the personal statement on graduate education is unusually long. Not everyone may be able to write this much.
