Good Afternoon,

Please unplug any sensitive equipment that can be damaged by this outage from its power source by the end of day tomorrow. As stated in the communication below please be advised that there will be a mandatory power shutdown on Wednesday, April 7th from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

All of the Batchelor Hall autoclaves (in rooms 1117, 3128, and 4135) will be unplugged tomorrow by 4:00 p.m. The admin staff will reconnect the autoclaves on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. once the repairs have been completed.

Please read below for exact details.

PURPOSE


The 5000 kVA transformer originally damaged in January 2021 has been rebuilt. The preparatory work last Friday, brought to light additional legacy connectivity issues which have also been addressed. This repair will return impacted buildings to regular and permanent power.



To accommodate multiple research requests, the permanent power tie-in will take place on Wednesday, April 7th from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Please review the details of the planned interruption below:

The following buildings will experience a power service interruption lasting up to 4 hours duration.  We will provide impacted building occupants updates as to when the power is restored.

Concerned occupants should take the following precautions:

  *   If you have sensitive research equipment or systems you know can be impacted by power interruption and you have not connected them to uninterrupted power devices (UPS) and surge protectors, please plan to disconnect and turn off equipment for the duration of the day to avoid any damage.
