[Bphystudent] REMINDER: Join Us: Professional Development Workshop – Tuesday, April 29

Dear Graduate Students,

This is a *REMINDER *that the BcMB Graduate Student Association is excited
to invite you to our upcoming Professional Development Workshop on Tuesday,
April 29, 2025 at 1 PM in Genomics Room 1102A!

This event will feature two guest speakers—one from industry and one from
academia—who will share their PhD journeys and offer valuable advice for
students looking for inspiration and direction as they plan for life after
graduation.

In addition to hearing from our speakers, we’ll be discussing some exciting
new student-led initiatives, including the development of a TA materials
database to support new teaching assistants. We know that TA’ing for the
first time can be intimidating, and we hope this resource will help ease
the transition and set our peers up for success.

We'll also explore ways to practice and improve oral presentation skills,
whether you're preparing for seminar presentations, your oral qualifying
exam, or even your thesis defense. This is a great opportunity to get
involved in shaping resources that will benefit the entire graduate student
community.

Location: Genomics Room 1102A

Light refreshments will be provided, including chips, water, fruit,
crackers & cheese. Vegan options will be available upon request.
